While visiting Joshua Tree National Park, we stayed at the Mojave Rock Ranch and we also made a side trip to Palm Springs!
Here is Cathy, Jess and Ben on top of Mount San Jacinto. Mount San Jacinto sits just behind Palm Springs. In Palm Springs at around 300 feet it was about 72 degrees. Up on Mount San Jacinto, at over 8,000 feet, the temperature was about 28 degrees!! The kids enjoyed actually being able to touch clouds. Once the clouds passed, the view was spectacular
Here are Jess and Ben on some rocks just beyond our cabin at Mojave Rock Ranch. Mojave Rock Ranch has around 175 acres of property, and we all enjoyed wandering around there!
Here is our illustrious guide Alan Jolley of Colorado Mountain Guides, with Jess and Ben next to some beautiful Desert Roses! You Say you need a climbing guide for anywhere from Colorado on to the west? Don't even think about anyone else, just e-mail Alan!!
I can't remember what Ben was pointing at or what rock he and Jess are on. I do know that this was the top of a "little scramble" on which Alan led us in the Hidden Valley Campground area.
