April found us again on vacation. This time, however, we went west to the high desert of California - to Joshua Tree! We had an absolutely AMAZING time. Joshua Tree is like no other place on earth!
Here we are on top of "The Blob" in the Hidden Valley Campground climbing area. We climbed vie Beginner's Two which actually was more challenging then it sounds. Its a huge off-width crack! When we reached the top, the wind was howling, but it was definitely a very interesting climb!
Here I am with Jess and Ben on top of Jail House Rock at the Indian Cove area. Earlier we climbed, among others, Cellbound, Jailbreak, and A Snitch In Time. I think that we earned this break!
Here you can see Ben rappelling down Mike's Books on intersection Rock also located in the Hidden Valley Campground area. Sometimes it just floors me how quickly he and Jess can climb!!
Here Jess stopped on her way up to give the thumbs up sign. She is about to head into a chimney on the first pitch of Mike's Books, which she blew through in no time. Yours truly, on the other hand, had a bit of difficulty in this same chimney!
Speak of the devil! Here I am after clawing my way up the above chimney that Jess and Ben blew through! I ought to ask them to give me lessons!!
